Privacy policy

This explains what personal information we collect when you shop with us and what we do with it.

Who is responsible

What we collect

• Enquiries: if you ask about a product, your name, email, and any phone number, postcode or message you add.
• Order details: your name, delivery address, email, phone number and what you bought.
• VAT relief declarations: the name and address of the person the items are for, the illness or disability you tell us about and, if you filled it in for them, your name and relationship. This is health information (special category data).
• Payment: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Your basket: stored in your own browser until you check out. We don't use advertising cookies.

Why we're allowed to use it

• Enquiries: to answer you, because you asked us to (steps before a contract). We don't add you to any mailing list.
• Order details: to carry out our contract with you, and to meet our legal duty to keep tax records.
• VAT relief declarations: only with your explicit consent, which you give with a separate tick box when you make the declaration, and to meet our legal duty to keep VAT records. We use it only to apply VAT relief and show HMRC that relief was correctly given. If you don't want to give it, you can buy without VAT relief.

Who we share it with

We share your name, delivery address and phone number with the manufacturer or courier who delivers your order, and nothing more. Your VAT relief declaration is never shared with them; we'd only show it to HMRC if they asked. Payment is processed by Stripe. We don't sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 12 months, then delete them, including the copy emailed to us. (If an enquiry turns into an order, the order records below apply instead.) We keep order records and VAT relief declarations for six years, as UK tax law requires, and then delete them. If you start a VAT relief declaration but don't complete payment, we delete it within 7 days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we don't have to keep by law. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
